I think this is a place where you can come alone and enjoy a terrific meal that can transport you to South America’s Southern Cone. You can also bring a date and impress her/him with your knowledge of South American wine.
I was in and out for an hour and 15 minutes, taking my time and enjoying the food. A big party was going on. 25 people were sat and they took up a third of the restaurant. One got the feeling that they were regulars whom had chosen to mark an important event at Doña Paulina’s. That’s got to say something!

The restaurant is located in a very humble, understated strip mall. We were greeted warmly by the security guard who opened the door for us. The restaurant was about half-full. Immediately a member of the wait staff ushered us to an open table. Our waitress took our drink order right away as we listened to live music and took in the cultural decor. She returned promptly with our drinks and helped us though the menu as we ordered our entrees. The sangria was served over a glass filled with ice and fruit. It tasted homemade and not like one of the mixes a lot more restaurants seem to be using now. Our entrees arrived and smelled wonderful. The chicken carbonara was rich and savory, the pasta tasted fresh and the pork and cheese gave it great flavor. The skirt steak, which was ordered medium- well was perfectly cooked and the rice and plantains as well. The Chimichurri sauce had a great consistency and flavor. The after dinner Café Con Leche was the perfect finish!

This petite restaurant is fun and enjoyable. With a large selection there's something for everyone who's looking to experience Miami's Latin flavors. The service is quick and the portions are large for their price. With great lunch specials any time of the day is a good time to swing by and have a bite. The food was good the restaurant is a little dated. It feels like a lot of the Latin restaurants in Miami. I'd go again if I was in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to send people there.
