The parking lot can be tricky since you’d have to park across the street – this is in Little Havana, parking can be tough. The restaurant itself is relaxing, lightly dimmed with drawings on the wall. There is a small bar and TVs on both walls. The restaurant is cozy, with two floors. The kitchen has a glass window, so you can see the chef preparing your food from anywhere inside the restaurant. I ordered the pabellon empanada, caribeña arepa, chicken arepa, and the Little Havana burger. The Little Havana burger has to be my favorite item from the menu. Instead of bread buns, they use fried cheese as the buns. You also have the option to add an egg for one more dollar, which means….I added the egg of course! Everything I had was tasty, creative and I also felt a sense of Miami on their menu. This restaurant also offers plant-based options.
Edukos also has a great selection of craft beers, which rotate every couple of weeks. It’s pretty fun paying attention to the details all around the restaurant. They have their logo on one side, which has an arepa inside. On the other wall, they have a little yellow person that is meant to be you, traveling along a map that shows different destinations in Venezuela; one of those being Angel Falls. The point of the drawing is to never stop exploring and learning. The server was very attentive, so it wasn’t difficult asking for the check. While walking out, the server thanked us for visiting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Edukos is in Little Havana right off Flagler near Marlins Park. It’s in a neighborhood area. Parking is available on the street. We arrived on a Saturday night and it was really quiet. There were only two other tables taken but the place is very small. I’m thinking it might be more of a happy hour place than for dinner. We were seated immediately wherever we wanted, and the server came over and gave us menus. We asked about beers to try as well as food selections. He was friendly and recommended a few beers since we decided to try a flight (4 beers). We liked 3 of the 4 he selected. We chose three bar items to try and shared them. Nothing was memorable as far as the food is concerned. The dumplings tasted like they had been frozen and the arepas had way too much garlic. Our drinks and food came out fast, so we weren’t there too long. That was fine since it’s very low key and not a very exciting place nor neighborhood for a Saturday night. While we enjoyed most of the beers, I would not run back here anytime soon. I would say if you happen to be going to the Marlins game and want a beer, this is an option.

The restaurant is located in an area that may scare some people off. Once inside, it has a very homey feel and service is great. The food is comfort food and quite filling. I’d go back for beers and to listen to the music.
