Lots of parking, the ambiance is friendly, working-class bustle with drive thru take out, coffee window and indoor seating. Staff seems well trained, and our waitress was very good. Our food was served quickly. It was delicious and homey. We asked to substitute an ingredient in one of our dishes and were accommodated for a small charge. The mamey shake is mother’s milk for Hispanic palates, as is the café con leche. The Cuban toast is served deliciously warm, buttered, and crispy. Islas Canarias is a landmark in west Dade County, and it’s croquetas have been written about very favorably for years. I didn’t order them because I don’t eat gluten, but friends have assured me that they are heavenly. Overall, a great breakfast experience, fast, professional service.

Isalas Canarias is in a strip mall located almost in the everglades. Parking is tight due to the popularity of the restaurant. But once you are inside it runs like a well oiled machine. Every Cuban dish you have ever dreamed about, served by a waitstaff that hustles hard. Food portions that are huge, and at prices that won’t leave your wallet unhappy. This is where you take you entire family, including your Abuela, when you are buying! The Croquetas are legendary, often cited as some of the best in Miami. They have one of my favorite dishes, Oxtails, served in a savory sauce that makes you want to lick the plate! All in all , a Miami legend.... can’t wait to return!

Parking was easy. We were sat right away, and our server attended us very quickly. She was able to describe the dishes and make recommendations. They are known for their Croquetas, and there is reason why; they are amazing! They are the perfect size, moist, and have great flavor! Their fresh juices were also great.
