I had actually been to Sweetwater about 5 years ago, I remember liking it but I hadn't been back until it was my assignment to go. I was incredibly surprised. I can get burnt out on going to restaurants.sometimes everything just tastes the same, or I feel like I could have made something better at home. Going back to Sweetwater was a huge surprise to me. The cocktails are really next level. The Bang Bang Eggplant in particular really blew my mind. I've already been recommending it to everyone I know.

Sweetwater in Boynton Beach is my go to restaurant for date night, entertaining out of town guests or meeting up with girlfriends. It's a bit tricky to get to as the entrance is not on Federal Highway, but rather is on the side of the condo complex side. There's a large, free parking garage and a valet option if you want to. With the rotating seasonal menus, you'll be able to go back over and over and have new menu items to try. They will often keep certain dishes like the octopus on the menu - but the preparation changes based on the season. Just as important as the food is at Sweetwater so are the drinks! They have their tried and true staples, like the Mexican cockfight made with mezcal and quite a bit of spice as well as rotating seasonal cocktails. I most recently had the Bad Hombres (mezcal and spicy peppers among a few other ingredients)! They are true craft cocktails served by friendly, knowledgeable and creative bartenders who can even whip up a custom drink on the spot - just share with them a few of your preferences. And each cocktail is garnished beautifully - very photo worthy presentation. The decor is dark and mysterious and one that you would not expect based on the location. The vast collection of whiskey and bourbon that lines the shelves around the restaurant, accounts for much of the decor and lends itself to great conversation pieces both among your party and with the staff. It is speakeasy-like and unlike any other restaurants I have been to in Florida (not only for the decor but for the food and drink). It feels like a restaurant you would find in a big city and is a true gem in South Florida.

Sweetwater was a hidden gem. I was very upset that I never knew of it because I lived in Boynton Beach for one year. The server never wrote down our order, her brain remembered, this I was impressed totally. She recommended a number of items and her favorites are also ours, now. The atmosphere was romantic, relaxed, young, appealing and honestly lovely. The décor was very thoughtful. They have Jojo fries + that was my husbands nickname growing up so we had to order those fries, stayed hot FOREVER with the special sauce ?? I really enjoyed this place.
