From the moment you pull in the parking lot you can tell that this is a fun place to eat. The windows are draped with red white and green Italian flag colors all over the front window. When you walk in the front door you are hit with the ambiance of a home style setting from the red table cloths and chairs. This Italian themed restaurant comes complete with flair from anything to anti Boston paraphernalia, to the televisions with sports and The Godfather playing on them. Each month the owner has an Italian movie night. He sets up a projector in the parking lot and serves Italian food. Just bring a chair! Nothing makes me feel more at home (I’m from New Jersey) then to get that good old NY greeting from the owner Andy who is from the Big Apple, and is a chef who has had his culinary training from FIU all the way to Zurich, Switzerland. As for the portions, GET READY TO EAT EAT EAT! The Italian sandwich is served on ciabatta bread the size of your head, and for $10 this is the best lunch bang for your buck!

It was easy to find parking right up front. As I entered, the wall at the entryway was painted the colors of the Italian flag from floor to ceiling. Also, they own the space next door that is a Creole restaurant called Baba’s Shrimp Shack. The way you get to Baba’s is through Talia’s restaurant, but you order from the same counter. There were a lot of knick knacks and pictures along the walls and on shelves. Each table had large containers of hand sanitizer on them for the patrons to use. We walked up to the counter to order and the person there was very friendly and offered us some cheese from the deli to taste that was really good. We looked over the menu, sat at a booth and ordered soon after. The owner called out to us that it would be $34.00. Our food arrived soon after on paper plates in black metal baskets. Some were called out to us and we had to pick up, which we expected. There were other people who came in and were regulars who got warm welcomes from the owner and the counter person. There were two other ladies near us that really enjoyed it. We ordered our dessert and coffee that also was called out to us quickly. We walked up to the counter and paid for the whole meal. I would recommend this restaurant to students who live in the area. This is a neighborhood place with large deli sandwiches that would appeal to a young crowd on a budget. There are many other choices also available on the menu.

Corner deli in a small strip plaza, almost looks out of place in East Boca, a place you could find on any corner in Philly or NYC. When I walked in, you notice all the pictures and the home style décor. A little unsure as to how everything worked: did you seat yourself or wait to be seated? Is there a wait staff or self order? Absolutely loved the smells of the food cooking from the open kitchen. When food was ready it was called out and you went to pick up from counter. I was amazed at how big and wonderful everything looked. The food came out steaming hot; it was difficult to wait for it to cool down. The pasta and sauces were delicious.

We were recognized as first time customers and were given our drinks for free, which made us feel welcome and appreciated. The food over delivered and the taste was amazing, from the fresh baked bread for their huge subs, to amazing entrees you would expect from a high end Italian restaurant. Expectations should be set that it is not fancy, but every community needs a place like this instead of another fast food chain. I would recommend this to others.
